A turf system is only as good as the base beneath it. That’s why T&M follows a proven installation method designed for stability, drainage, and longevity.
Our turf installation process typically includes:
- 8–10 inches of excavation
- A 3/4” bluestone base, compacted in 2-inch lifts for a strong, stable foundation
- A stone dust screeding layer, which hardens beneath the turf to create a smooth and firm surface
Along all turf edges, we install 2x4 nailer boards. These boards lock the turf into place, prevent edge movement, and protect against lifting during high winds. They also allow us to stretch the turf tightly, eliminating ripples, wrinkles, and uneven areas.
To complete the system, we use a generous amount of 8-inch nails to secure the turf, ensuring everything stays locked in place for years to come.
